I am not quite sure, and correct me if I am wrong, but TEJA (Mr. Midas of Telugu Industry) of Jai Ram fame (!!) is also a cameraman-turned-director………

Swades, i have my own doubts.
The pictures and the storyline looks promising.. but it may not be a big hit..[either ways cant accept Shah Rukh khan as a Project Manager in NASA.. could have been more realistic]

Yeah !! But Balu Mahendra remarked various inerviews that though he was looked upon as a cinematographer, while he studied in pune institute, he wanted to become a director. since we know that I wanted to see him as a full-time director who also did camera work.

I knew someone is going to point out a huge list that I missed out due to bad memory.

Thangar Bachan should have been there. Ashok Kumar also did a couple of films. Panneer Selvam – which film did he do ?

I should have also added BR Vijayalakshmi(Pattu Paadavaa). She was a camera woman. Anyway I did put it here so that should be fine.

Any more missing in the list ? Please list it here.

You missed ‘Oli Ooviyar’Thangar bachan in that list ! ( Also Oldies like Ashok kumar ,Panner selvam ,who released their films after Meera ..)

Need to wait ,if that risk of missing Swades & Anniyan really worth it ..

All the VERY Best to this new directorial venture. The photo looks stunning and quite different. I heard that AM Ratnam was slated to produce this film but now seems to have pulled out of it… Hope this director gets his steady cashflow to make his dream-come-true
