Except for kallai mattum kandal, all other songs are very very mediocre. Kamal’s voice breaking in oh.oh.sanam esp paattu un kathile.. Atleast this song is somewhat ok. What about the himesh singing oh.oh..sanam ! (the remix version)

Posted by:Ok so the general consensus is that the music sucks. I was initially thinkint that I was going to look odd since this was a kamal film and people would like it anyway. that’s reassuring.
i simply dont get it how Kamal liked the songs and how he can make give his pet project to some chap who doesn’t even know a south indian bhajan tune. that’s probably a failure on kamal’s part more than himesh and KSR.

I thinbk these two songs are good…dont whip the music too much…pls..
Himesh has scored music for only songs. Rest of the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. I wonder how kamal did not concentrated much on the music and missed Illayaraja/ARR.

Oh Oh Sanam sounds like Himesh’s another song – but that singing in the remix version is gonna give sure competition to Sam Anderson
Also the buzz abt ARR opting out of Dasa is that he was forced by some terrorist organizations to do so (coz its a hindu mythology based story kinda etc). Not jus a rumour, it has some credibility to it. thts why he didnt do the RR also is wht i heard.

Posted by:Lazy, the simple explanation is that it isnt really Kamal’s pet project. This is just another Aalavandhan type experiment on a succesful producer’s money. So, music is not as integral as his other movies in this. When he needs quality music, I dont think Kamal will compromise. I think he just wanted to do something uniquely kamalhassany and 10 roles is a good lifetime achievement. And he just compromised on the music for that – thats my theory. It is just a milestone he needs to do and if he has to rope in a MD from commercial perspective to satisfy the proeducer, so be it.
I am all for Kamal exploiting the money bags for his experiments
KSR might be why IR is not part of it. ARR because of dates(officially) or Kamal(unofficially), I believe. So, alternative is YSR or GVP but there is need for a hype factor which is where Himesh comes in and gives a cue to the Hindi market. So, yeah, it is a commercial decsion rather than artistic. I repeat, Kamal wouldnt do this for a movie close to his heart. He Ram will have IR (or alteast LS).Virumandi will have IR. His new marma yogi has ARR.

you are right. the entire song is not taken from the mallu movie. But unfortunately after the first few lines of the “kallai mattum” song, it was really boring and i had to turn it off
